My role was bison fur setup in Houdini and lookdev in Arnold. However it was done in Houdini 15.5 (new fur & hair tools were introduced in later version of Houdini) and therefore it required various modifications of old “monolithic” fur node.
I have not done grooming itself. It was previously created in Maya using Xgen and had to be transferred into Houdini. CHOP driven fur dynamics system (similar to the one described in this article) was developed for this bison by Ondrej Poláček.
